Mariel Gerlt

An associate attorney at The Cochran Firm Los Angeles, Mariel Gerlt maintains a general civil practice, with an emphasis on civil rights and personal injury law.  Ms. Gerlt attended the University of Missouri Columbia as a Curator's Scholar, where she earned an Honors Certificate as well as Bachelor's Degrees in both Political Science and Spanish.  She was also a member of the National Spanish Honor Society, Sigma Delta Pi.  While attending law school at Southwestern University in Los Angeles, Ms. Gerlt served as Notes and Comments Editor for the Law Review.  She was also a member of the Moot Court Honors Program as well as Vice-President of the Women Law Student's Association.  A Paul Wildman Scholar, Ms. Gerlt was the recipient of the Dean's Merit Award as well as four CALI "Excellence for the Future" awards for achieving the highest grade in her classes.  Ms. Gerlt also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable George P. Schiavelli of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
